docs: add defaultMessage example to README #1077

Description

Add defaultMessage example to README for custom validators. It was not initially clear to me that this is a supported feature and I had to dig through some closed issues to discover it.

This is already included in the first custom decorator example. I agree this part of the docs can be improved, but probably in a more structured way.
